MATLAB supplies very many functions. In Section 3.1 we introduced just some
of the most commonly used mathematical functions. You should now be able to
use the MATLAB help to find other functions you need. If necessary, you can –
create your own functions, using the methods of Section 3.2. Function handles, anonymous functions, subfunctions, and nested functions extend the capabilities of MATLAB and are especially useful for large programming projects. These topics were treated in Section 3.3.
In addition to function files, data files are also useful for many applications.
Section 3.4 shows how to import and export such files in MATLAB. Table 3.5-1 is a guide to all the commands introduced in this chapter.
